* Drill bit recommendations are based on availability of drill bits in these sizes. Referenced drill bits are standard sizes available from human orthopaedic companies. A K-wire or drill bit one size smaller than the pin’s shank size can also be utilized for pre-drilling.

** 03062 and 03078 are popular with the Mini SK™ and Acrylic / Epoxy ESF frames.

*** 03094 has the same shank as the small INTERFACE™ fixation half-pin but has a smaller thread profile. This pin is less frequently used with long bone fractures but finds more routine use with acrylic and pin ESF frames applied to mandibular fractures.

Miniature CENTERFACE™ Fixation Full-pins
These long awaited additions to our miniature ESF pin line represent the worlds smallest centrally threaded, positive-profile external fixation pins.  Mini CENTERFACE™ fixation full-pins are available in shank sizes of 0.035”, 0.045” and 0.062” and are compatible with Mini SK ESF clamps. Most commonly used with acrylic fixators on toy breeds, kittens, avian patients and small exotic pets.  A single trocar point is included to clearly identify the lead-end of the pin and simplify application.   

Miniature IMEX™ Stick-pins
Over the years, many customers have used IMEX™ miniature INTERFACE™ fixation half-pins for a variety of non-external fixation purposes when a k-wire sized implant with a short threaded portion is what the surgeon really desires. Such applications are often in small dogs, cats, avian, and exotic patients and include: tibial crest translocations, capital physeal fractures and avulsion fractures of the greater trochanter. These applications often involve bending the pin over as in tension band applications. When miniature INTERFACE™ pins are bent acutely at their roughened shaft area they may break. Stick-pins are nearly identical to miniature INTERFACE™ pins but do not include the roughened shaft that enhances grip to acrylic and epoxies, and are not prone to failure when bent acutely at the smooth portion of the pin.
