Extending the Battery Life of Your Surgery Drill
Most small Makita® drills used in veterinary practices have built in batteries with a recommended three hour maximum charge. Eliminating overcharging – especially overnight charging – maximizes battery life. Many veterinarians and technicians are unaware of this guideline.
Since busy practice schedules and daily routines make it difficult to remember when to unplug a charging drill, a simple lamp timer can be utilized to control the length of charge applied. Inexpensive lamp timers are readily available at most hardware stores.
