INTERFACE® - Positive Profile ESF Half-pins
These small pins are K-wire size versions of our popular INTERFACE® fixation half-pins.
INTERFACE® fixation half-pins are end-threaded with positive-thread profiles and a trocar point. As with all ESF pins, pre-drilling is highly recommended. Small, medium, and large are based on the KE standard of 3/32”, 1/8”, and 5/32” shafts respectively. A variety of diameters and lengths are available.
INTERFACE® NP (No-Point) fixation half-pins lack the sharp trocar point found on standard fixation pins which reduces opportunity for morbidity created by a point remaining in soft tissue. This blunted trocar pin is safer for the operating surgeon and costs less than traditional sharp trocar half-pins. Lengths, diameters, and recommended drill bits are common with standard INTERFACE® half-pins. IMEX™ pin and drill charts can be used for trocar and NP style pins.
INTERFACE® fixation half-pins with cancellous thread profile feature a deep thread with larger pitch and thread diameter than standard thread INTERFACE® fixation pins. These pins are used in limited locations.
