DuraFace® full-pins are a significant improvement compared to historically used positive-profile pins. These pins feature a larger shaft on the “near” end of the pin and a tapered run-out junction at the thread-shaft junction to attenuate any potential stress riser, resulting in a pin with increased bending resistance and enhanced cyclic fatigue life compared to positive-profile pins (Vet Comp Orthop Traumatol 2011; 4: 257-261.).
DuraFace® short half-pins are designed with a reduced thread length to keep the TRO (tapered-run-out), thread/shaft junction closer to the bone – maximizing the power of DuraFace® pins when applied to shallow bone locations. Only available in no-point (NP) versions.
This two-mode, variable speed Makita® drill includes an extended chuck (Part No. 30001), stainless chuck key (Part No. 30003), external charger and two lithium ion battery packs. The extra battery can safely remain on the charger if desired. Drill and batteries are NOT autoclavable but are commonly used with an autoclavable drill shroud (Part No. 30006) and stainless extended chuck.

Acrylx™ is a methacrylate based composite resin designed to simplify construction of pin and acrylic external fixators on toy breeds, avian, feline, exotics and mandibular fractures. Unlike other commonly used products, Acrylx™ has minimal odor and does not require pre-mixing before application.
Historically available in 2.4 and 3.2mm diameters, SCAT™ pins are most commonly used as temporary jig pins when performing TPLO surgery. 1.6mm and 2.0mm SCAT™ pins are now available as the jig pins of choice for our mini TPLO jig.
A mainstay of circular and hybrid external skeletal fixation, the cannulated/slotted wire fixation bolt has been improved to include a hex head. The hex head provides freedom of wrench placement and allows use of different wrench types. If you do not have any wire fixtion bolts with a hex head, IMEX® recommends you include 6-8 today to simplify your next surgery.
Two-hole titanium suture buttons, like polypropylene suture buttons, are used at the lateral femur to simplify suture tie-off with the toggle pin method of hip luxation repair; additional uses include shoulder luxations and cruciate ligament repair. The paired 1.7mm holes will accommodate virtually all suture material choices.
Developed with a new elliptical head design and applied with a durable slotted driver, surgeons can position the suture of choice before driving the anchor.
Based on customer feedback, the NP (No-Point) external fixation half-pin has been reinvented with a blunt-trocar point to offer:
• Improved ease-of-use
• Enhanced thread starting
• Better tracking in pre-drilled holes
NP (No-Point) fixation half-pins lack the sharp trocar point found on standard fixation pins which reduces opportunity for morbidity created by a point remaining in soft tissue. This blunted trocar pin is safer for the operating surgeon and costs less than traditional sharp trocar half-pins. Lengths, diameters, and recommended drill bits are common with standard INTERFACE® and DuraFace® half-pins. IMEX® pin and drill charts can be used for trocar and NP style pins.
DuraFace® fixation half-pins represent a tremendous breakthrough in veterinary external fixation pin performance. TRO™ (Tapered Run Out) technology provides increased stiffness, strength and durability as compared to traditional positive profile ESF pins. (U.S. Patent Pending)
This TPLO Saw Blade Adapter is designed to couple Synthes® TPLO saw blades to Stryker®-type saws. Our adapter allows you to secure a Synthes® TPLO saw blade in the preferred Slocum method of mounting the blade on the long axis of the saw.
IMEX® customers report satisfaction with performance of the Synthes® saw blade but prefer using it as described by Slocum.
